Anderson Station, Calgary, Alberta, canada
Urban Design Associates is working with the City of Calgary to develop urban design plans and design guidelines for a series of transit station areas throughout the city. Anderson Station is illustrated here as one of the early phase planning and redevelopment efforts led by the city. The station is about 12km due south of the downtown and has become a key asset in the urbanization of the southern neighborhoods adjacent to the downtown. It’s original design, as the southern terminus of the line, was to serve as a park and ride station for suburban commuters. The urban design plan features an intensive mix-of-uses and active public spaces that create a dynamic environment around the station.
