Urban Design Associates has received over 100 awards for its work in Urban Design, Design Guidelines, and Architecture. These have included four National AIA Honor Awards, two Progressive Architecture Awards, three ULI Awards for Excellence, five Charter Awards from the Congress for the New Urbanism, three national HUD Awards for downtown and neighborhood projects, and the Presidential Award for the transformation of a public housing project. In addition, David Lewis, who co-founded UDA in 1964, has been recognized by the Congress for the New Urbanism as a pioneer of the practice of New Urbanism with the Athena Award, and by the International Downtown Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
