South Lake Union, Seattle, Washington
UDA Plan generates $2.85 billion of investments.
UDA prepared a master plan and design guidelines for nearly 50 acres of land north of downtown Seattle in the South Lake Union (SLU) neighborhood. The project proposed revitalization of the district, with new development of 9 million square feet of new and rehabilitated commercial and residential property and a strong emphasis on creating a biotech and biomedical research cluster. SLU has earned national recognition as a successful revitalization of an urban district. The master plan leveraged significant public and private investment dollars.
