Urban Design Associates, with Fourth Economy and Trans Associates, was selected by the City of Greensburg and the Greensburg Community Development Corporation to prepare a plan for the 5th and 6th Wards. The project focuses on connectivity, economic growth, and neighborhood preservation. This district includes the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital and several residential neighborhoods and is the gateway to Greensburg’s downtown from Rt. 30. The process will include several meetings with the community and participation by major stakeholders. The study will explore redevelopment and open space opportunities, street improvements, and potential new connections to nearby Seton Hill University. The study is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.
