Cal Poly SLO
Design Guidelines

A guide for architecture that responds to place

As the Cal Poly campus is embarking on a new building campaign, the Cal Poly team engaged UDA to develop a guide that supports the development of the main campus into an inspiring, unique place. The UDA document promotes an architecture that enhances a large, campus-wide open space system for circulation and dwelling, programs architecture for student interaction, and takes advantage of the unique climate, character, and views. The UDA guidelines identify architectural patterns, architectural character districts, direction on building programming, approved materials, and district planning.
