Clarksburg Municipal Building

A city hall inspired by historic precedents

Rather than build a new municipal building outside of the heart of the city, Clarksburg chose to locate their new 22,000-sq.ft. facility in the heart of their historic district. UDA designed the building to be compatible with its context that includes the Harrison County Courthouse and other Classical and Romanesque office buildings. In the tradition of great American civic structures, the new municipal building sits back from Main Street on a new front green, and together with the courthouse plaza, it creates a new civic space.
